Before Nyepi, Hindu’s communities in Lombok do ceremony (ritual) “Butha Yadha” to neutralize the evil power. Nyepi will be on the 28th of March, 2017 or 1939 in the Saka New Year for Hindu’s community. One of the series of events is OGOH-OGOH PARADE. It symbolizes Butha Kala who was representing creepy face and bad things that had to be defeated.
Ogoh – ogoh means work together (cooperation) which is inspired by the youth in Jembrana Bali created in 1982 and eventually become an activity that still continues until now.
In Lombok ogoh – ogoh parade will be held on March 27, 2017 starting at 2 pm to 4 pm. The route starts from Mataram mall and finish in Mayure Park. A lot of kind of ogoh – ogoh will be paraded around the streets which they are the representatives of the various banjar (Hindu’s associations) in Mataram. You will be picked up at Senggigi Squer and then we’re heading to Islamic Center for parking. Then we’re walking towards Mataram Mall to the best point (spot) for watching ogoh – ogoh. You will see various kinds of ogoh-ogoh. After viewing the parade, then we will enjoy dinner at the legendary warung called “Warung Nasi CIM SMAK” with yellow rice, soup, rawon and delightful mixed ice. The tour is only for 10 people.
